La luminosità della luce solare riflessa, delle zone d'ombra luminose ed in tutte le sue opere, una viva percezione del tempo che passa. Wendy Artin è sempre stata la pittrice della luce.
Wendy Artin, pittrice americana, studia presso la Scuola del Museo di Belle Arti di Boston e si specializza presso la Scuola di Belle Arti di Parigi.
Ha trascorso buona parte del suo tempo viaggiando e vivendo all'estero; dipingendo spesso per strada e presso i musei utilizzando carboncino ed acquerelli.
Il
suo lavoro è figurativo e classico ed esplora le interazioni della luce
sulle diverse superficie, siano esse riferite al corpo umano o alle
rovine romane. Attualmente vive a Roma. Il marito (Bruno Boschin) è
proprietario della Libreria del Viaggiatore di Roma.
“I paint to pay tribute to the beauty that I see, to remember how the light was making puddles of shadows, how the tree trunks punctuated the sky. I try to keep the materials I use fresh, the marks active and varied. I love the way watercolor washes and spreads, the way charcoal grazes the surface of the paper.

The picture I make is
somewhere between what the real thing looks like and what the materials look
like, loose and precise. I often have to
paint the same subject over and over, until there is the right combination of
freshness and detail. And then the
sunlight moves, the shadows change, and there is a totally new image.”
